new website and old products dropped

I've updated the lost minds website and in the process removed the old shareware games Blobs and Astrosquid. The games had not been updated or maintained for many years and I felt that they did not live up to the quality standards I now have. If anyone is interested in these old titles feel free to contact me.

Vectoraster 3.5.1 released

A new version of the graphics utility Vectoraster has been released and is now availible for download.

The new version mostly fixes a couple of bugs but also introduces a new feature that allows you to remove points smaller than a set value.

Changes
- Option to remove points smaller than a set size limit.
- Fixed bug causing freeze when zooming in too much.
- Fixed a rounding error bug for people using comma instead of period as decimal separator.
- Fixed bug with export units setting that swapped millimeters and points.

Vectoraster 3.5 released

A new version of the graphics utility Vectoraster has been released and is now availible for download.

The new version adds a couple of new features, most importantly batch processing and the ability to both get source images from frames in movie files and write batch output directly to a Quicktime movie file. This opens up new exiting possibilities to use vectoraster for animation as well as illustration and graphic design.

Changes
- Added batch processing tool.
- Added movie frame import.
- Added Box point shape.
- Added the random edge number option for the polygon point shapes.
- Added lossless LZW-compression to exported TIFF-files.
- Fixed some interface quirks in Mac OS X 10.6.

Vectoraster 3.0.1 released

A new version of the graphics utility Vectoraster has been released and is now availible for download. The new version is a small update fixing a couple of problems in version 3.0.0.

Changes
- Vectoraster now properly adds the right file extension in save dialogs.
- Made the interface fields more responsive.
- Added a help menu item to open the manual.

Vectoraster 3 released



A new version of the graphics utility Vectoraster has been released.

Changes and new features:
- Line raster mode to generate proper line rasters.
- New character point modes to select characters from a defined set, loop through a string or use an entire string as a point.
- Separate horisontal and vertical raster spacing setting.
- Incremental point size option to use a set number of point sizes instead of the default linear distribution.
- Improved point rotation control.
- Better control of “Random shape” points, previously know as “Random blob”.
- Remodeled user interface with separate source image, point and pattern panels.
- Option to include source image in exported rasters.
- Improved manual.
- A lot of bugfixes.

Pricing
Vectoraster 3 is $20 for new users.
$10 to upgrade for registered users of Vectoraster 1 or 2.

Vectoraster 3 is shareware and you can download it and try it for free, but with some limitations. To remove these limitations you have to register and pay for the application.

Vectoraster 3 in development

A new version of the vector graphics utility Vectoraster is now in beta testing and will soon be released. The new version is a major upgrade with a lot of improvements and new features.
Some new features in Vectoraster 3
* New line raster mode to generate custom line rasters.
* More powerful character/text raster mode where you can define a set of characters to use randomly, in order or all at once for each point.
* Separate settings for horizontal and vertical raster spacing.
* Incremental point size option.
* Improved point rotation control.
The new version will be $20 for new users and $10 to upgrade for registered users of Vectoraster 1 or 2. So if you're planning on registering Vectoraster 2 and don't need it right this minute it might be worth waiting a few weeks and buying the new version instead.

Updated online registration system

Kagi, the company that handles our online payments, is moving over to a new store system and today we've moved our store over to the new system. Hopefully, you won't notice this at all, but as always there might be some initial problems.

So if you encounter any problems trying to register, please let us know and we'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

A new version of the graphics utility Vectoraster has been released.
New features:
- Custom point shape. Use any image file as raster points.
- Secondary source image for color or point size.
- Source color mixing sliders.
- Preference to use points or millimeters as units for exported rasters.
- Character point type can now use a random character.
- Display menu with options to render rasters in draft mode and to turn off raster auto regeneration.
- Export to PDF added.
- Export to TIFF added.
- New option to control if the raster should have a background color.
- Preference to copy vector-rasters as PDF, EPS or both.

Vectoraster 1.0 Released

Vectoraster has now been released and is availible for download.
Vectoraster is graphics utility for creating vector-based raster patterns from bitmap images. The raster patterns and point shapes can be freely configured to produce different styles. The resulting rasters can then either be exported to an EPS-file or simply copied into most vector graphics software.

Vectoraster in betatesting

A new product that has been in development for some time now will soon be released. The new product will be called Vectoraster and it is a graphics utility.
With it you can easily create a vector-based raster pattern from a bitmap image. The resulting rasters can easily be exported to other graphics software and used for print or any form of graphic design.

Downloads fixed

It seems the server where our downloads went down preventing any downloads the last few days. The downloads have now been moved to another server and the links have been fixed.
A backup system has also been installed so there are now two independent download links for each file. Hopefully this will prevent any future problems.
