Proposed new features
These are features that have been requested or we're thinking about that you can vote for.
Develop a new app for parametric vector graphic design, similar to Vectoraster and/or Patternodes that can be run on any platform (macOS, Windows, Linux)
Development on a new project like this called Paragraphic has now started. It's still early in development, but you can follow the process on paragraphic.design and sign up for a release notification or to be a tester.
Add a possibility to generate additional child layers of the rasters, layers that copy all properties of the main raster but where you can override some individual parameters. For example adding a second layer that is slightly offset or rotated, has a different color or point size. Or simulate color separations by adding multiple such child layers for each channel with different color and size functions.
Added Apr 7, 2021
Variable width font supportProposal
Add support for using variable width fonts when using text characters as point shapes, so this can be varied like other point properties across the raster.
Added Feb 13, 2021
Add batch processing to automatically apply a Vectoraster effect on all files in a directory, using them as input in an image source layer, and outputting the result for each file. Allowing you to generate a specific effect quickly based on multiple images.
Added Nov 1, 2020
Zoom and scroll in timelineProposal
Add controls for zooming and panning/scrolling in the animation timeline instead of having it fixed to the animation duration, to make it easier to work with longer animations.
Added Oct 7, 2022
WebP format exportProposal
Add support for exporting animations (and single images) to WebP format

Multiple custom point shapesReleased in v8.5.0
Add support for using multiple different imported custom shapes, with control over which one is used for each raster point (based on a source, point index or at random).
Added Nov 17, 2021 implemented Aug 11, 2022
More diffusion dithering patternsReleased in v8.4.5
In v8.2.0 Floyd-Steinberg, Stucki, Sierra and 8x8 Bayer diffusion dithering patterns were added. The proposal here is simply to add additional dithering patterns for more different dithering styles. For example Jarvis, Judice and Ninke (JJN) dithering, Atkinson dithering, Burkes dithering and 4x4 Bayer patterns.
Added Nov 1, 2020 implemented Feb 28, 2022
Video source layersReleased in v8.4.0
Add support for importing video files to use like source images. For example letting you use these as animated sources in animations to have Vectoraster work like an advanced effect filter on the video.
Add support for exporting still vector result graphics in SVG format.

Do you have other ideas for new features or improvements? Please let us know!
If we like the idea we might implement it right away, or add it here for future consideration.
There is of course no guarantee that any of these feature will ever be implemented, and we have a lot of other ideas and plans as well. But if something on this list gets a lot of votes it will let use know there's interest and it will be more likely to become reality.
